Testosterone Replacement Therapy in Naples, ME

As men age, they experience both positive and negative changes. Many middle-aged men learn to let the little things go and focus on family and friendship. They develop new hobbies and reach their peak earning potential. On the flip side, many men undergo unexpected hormonal changes around this same age. That's a hard pill to swallow for a lot of males, but contrary to common belief, having low testosterone isn't reserved for elderly men.

Studies show that around 55% of males suffer from low testosterone. For many, that drop-off happens in their 40s and 50s. But the truth is that testosterone levels can start to decline as early as age 30, leading to various physical and emotional changes such as decreased energy, increased aches and pains, and even sexual performance issues.

If you're a man experiencing symptoms of low testosterone - like ED or erectile dysfunction - you may feel embarrassed, depressed, or like all hope is lost. Fortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Male health clinics like Med Matrix offer advanced, FDA-approved treatments like testosterone replacement therapy in Naples, ME, to help restore your hormone levels. When your hormones are balanced, it's almost like everything clicks back into place without having to take pills or suffer through surgery.

TRT Clinic Naples, ME

The Med Matrix Difference

Did you know that testosterone is the foundation of all male performance? It's the reason why, in your early 20s, you could have a fun night out on the town and wake up the next morning ready to hit the basketball court. It's the reason why you feel the drive to succeed and find a mate.

Unfortunately, testosterone levels start to decline around the age of 35 (and sometimes sooner, depending on various factors). Past that age, your T levels drop even more. 40% of men over 45 have sub-optimal levels, which can have a negative effect on things like your:

  • Energy Levels
  • Libido
  • Workout Recovery
  • Focus
  • Body Fat
  • Strength
  • Ability to Build Muscle
  • More

Many men approaching middle age aren't even aware that their testosterone levels are dropping. Other males simply don't care and begrudgingly accept the new, uninteresting life that looms in front of them. Today, however, more and more men are ditching that mindset and reclaiming their lives with testosterone replacement therapy in Naples, ME.

How Does TRT Work?

One of the most common questions we get at Med Matrix is, "What does TRT do?" Testosterone replacement therapy does what its name implies: It's a science-backed therapy that replaces low testosterone levels in men. The main objective of going on a TRT regimen is to improve your life and wellbeing by balancing your hormones. Also referred to as androgen replacement therapy, TRT helps many men deal with and overcome the debilitating side effects of low T.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy works by giving your body the testosterone it needs to function properly. Without healthy levels of testosterone, the male body can't maintain the natural processes necessary for overall health. In fact, men with low testosterone levels are more prone to serious health problems such as type-2 diabetes and even heart disease.

Until their testosterone levels are restored to normal, most men suffer until they find a solution. That's where TRT comes into play. With balanced hormones, the body can finally begin to heal, causing most symptoms of low testosterone to diminish greatly.

Here are the 5 Biggest Benefits of Going on TRT in Naples, ME

Up to this point, we've talked a bunch about how beneficial TRT can be for men who have declining testosterone levels. But you may be wondering how TRT specifically benefits you and your body. Here are just a few of the biggest benefits of starting testosterone replacement therapy at Med Matrix.

TRT Clinic Naples, ME

Higher Levels of Energy

The effects of TRT are not immediate and may not be noticeable at first. However, typically, psychological improvements can be felt within three to four weeks of starting treatment. Most individuals experience reduced fatigue, improved sleep, and an overall feeling of being more rested after about a month of treatment. By this time, you may also notice increased motivation to engage in physical activities, which are crucial for your wellbeing and quality of life.

Higher-Levels-Energy

Better Sex Life

If there's one thing that men hate most about having low testosterone, it's that their ability to perform in the bedroom becomes compromised. In fact, diminished sexual function, including low sex drive and erectile dysfunction, is one of the most common reasons why men seek treatment for low T. That's for good reason: Recent research shows a strong correlation between libido and testosterone levels.

Fortunately, testosterone replacement therapy in Naples, ME, can enhance healthy sexual relations with your spouse or partner. Increased testosterone levels in men often lead to increased sexual activity. At Med Matrix, many of our patients report having a higher sex drive within the first three to four weeks of treatment. Many men also reported having stronger and longer-lasting erections.

More-Mental-Clarity

More Mental Clarity and Focus

Testosterone has a significant impact on cognitive performance, including memory, concentration, and reasoning. When testosterone levels are low, mental function can suffer. When you begin TRT, the heavy cloud that has been hanging over you can start to dissipate. Mental focus, cognition, and memory show signs of improvement after the first few weeks of treatment. Feelings of depression and sudden mood swings start to subside within three to six weeks. By 18 to 30 weeks, you will notice a significant improvement in self-confidence and mental clarity, as well as an inner strength that is more prepared to face life's challenges.

Normalized-Blood-Sugar

Normalized Blood Sugar Levels

When experiencing hypogonadism, your insulin sensitivity may be compromised, leading to fluctuations in blood sugar levels and an elevated risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Testosterone replacement therapy boosts your insulin sensitivity, enabling your body to efficiently absorb glucose from your blood after a meal.

Typically, significant improvements in blood glucose levels and insulin sensitivity are observed after about three months, with the full effect manifesting after a year. Also, remember this: TRT has been shown to increase your motivation. The tiniest spark of motivation can propel you to become more physically active, further boosting your insulin sensitivity.

Healthy-Red-Blood-Cell

Healthy Red Blood Cell Count

Your body produces red blood cells through a process called erythropoiesis. When you suffer from hypogonadism (low T), red blood cell production can slow, leading to anemia. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can help improve red blood cell count, reduce fatigue, and stabilize blood pressure. Results may vary based on age and dosage, but improvements are typically noticeable after three months, with peak benefits at nine to 12 months.

We should note that some TRT patients have higher hematocrit levels than normal (>51%) and need to donate blood regularly as a result. That's why it's important to work with seasoned male health doctors - like those at Med Matrix - when you're considering TRT in Naples, ME.

Build-Bigger-Muscles

Build Bigger Muscles

Who doesn't want a great physique? Diet, rest, and exercise are crucial for success. However, when your testosterone levels drop below the normal range, your strength decreases, your body mass decreases, and your once-unstoppable endurance diminishes. Testosterone plays a key role in improving these areas.

Do You Have These Symptoms of Low Testosterone?

Are you used to blasting through your day with productivity and positivity? Have you noticed that you're losing muscle mass and the desire to be with your spouse? Has your partner been complaining that you're too irritable to be around? If you're usually not a curmudgeon, your body is probably trying to tell you something. It could be time to speak with a doctor about testosterone replacement therapy in Naples, ME. Keep a running tally of whichever of the following symptoms you notice happening in your life.

 TRT Men's Clinic Naples, ME

Two words that send shivers down the spines of every man are "erectile dysfunction." Unfortunately, when your T levels are lower than they should be, this is one of the most common symptoms that men must endure. Being unable to get it up isn't just embarrassing - it can be downright depressing and lead to issues with mental health. It's a hard topic to discuss, but a personalized TRT plan from Med Matrix can help.

Decreased energy was once considered a normal part of aging. Nowadays, we know better. Most doctors understand that low energy levels can be linked to low testosterone levels. If you're finding it difficult to engage in activities you used to enjoy, like playing with your kids or going for a workout, it could be a sign of low testosterone. Sure, it's normal to feel tired from time to time. But persistent fatigue and a serious lack of drive might mean something more.

A study from 2011 revealed that men who lose a week's worth of sleep may experience a 15% reduction in testosterone levels. Additional research found that almost 15% of workers get five hours of sleep or less per night. These findings suggest that sleep loss can negatively impact testosterone levels and wellbeing. The big takeaway here is that men who have trouble sleeping often suffer from lower testosterone. If you find yourself exhausted at the end of the day but struggle to sleep through the night, you may be one of those men.

Many people over the age of 50 experience memory loss and lack of concentration. It's a normal part of aging. However, those signs can also mean you have low T. A study from 2006 discovered that males with low testosterone levels performed poorly on cognitive skill tests. This suggests that low testosterone can contribute to reduced cognitive ability. If you can't stay focused on tasks or can't recall words like you used to, have your testosterone levels checked. You could be a prime candidate for TRT.

If you're like millions of other men, coming to grips with hair loss isn't something you want to do. Closely related to hormone imbalances and testosterone decline, hair loss is stressful and embarrassing. It's often related to a derivative of testosterone called DHT. Too much DHT in your body can cause hair follicles to stop production, causing them to die. Because hair located at the front and crown is more sensitive to DHT, it grows slower than other follicles and eventually stops growing altogether. While you can't alter your genes, you can address low testosterone in your body. Whether you're suffering from thinning hair or hair loss across your entire head, TRT and solutions like peptides and stem cells can stop your head from shedding hair.

Gynecomastia, also known as "man boobs," is the enlargement of male breast tissue, often caused by hormonal imbalances and an increase in estrogen. Elevated estrogen levels during andropause, also known as male menopause, usually occur due to a lack of testosterone. If you're a man between 40 and 55 and feel embarrassed about having large breasts, ask your doctor about TRT. When combined with a healthy diet and exercise, it could be the solution to your problem without needing surgery.

One of the area's most dynamic offensive players has found his future home.

Shawn Simeon, a rising senior out of Naples, announced his commitment to Toledo Monday afternoon. The 3-star running back chose the Rockets over Florida State, South Florida, Iowa, and others.

"I think it all started with being consistent with our relationship," Simeon told the Naples Daily News. "The entire coaching staff has been talking to me since January when they recruited me. So when I took the visit, I enjoyed it a lot. They had a big portion of players from Florida and I had a great relationship with the players that weekend. Overall, it was perfect for me."

On his first time on a plane and without any family, Simeon was able to trust the school and feel at-home on his official visit.

"My older brother was supposed to go with me, but he got into a car accident on Thursday and I was supposed to leave on Friday," Simeon said. "So I had to go by myself, and that just shows you that I trust the school and that I felt comfortable... I was up there alone and they took me under their wing, and really just showed me the ins-and-outs and gave me details about the school.

“It just shows they're very genuine, and they really care for me. It's not fake."

Simeon led all of Southwest Florida with 2,040 rushing yards on 188 touches with 27 touchdowns in his first year as the full-time starter. His 10.9 yards per carry helped propel the Golden Eagles to a 10-3 record with a berth in the Class 3S-Region 4 Championship.

The All-Area first teamer also posted 387 yards and seven touchdowns in last year's Class 3S-Region 4 semifinal win over Port Charlotte, which marked a single-game rushing record for the Golden Eagles, as well as a state record for most touchdowns in a playoff game.

Simeon was Rick Martin's work horse last year in an offense that loves to run the ball. He eclipsed 150 rushing yards in seven games, and accounted for over half of Naples total yards on the ground last season.

"Overall, I like how the coach was teaching all the other players and developing them," Simeon said. "How he was running his drills, it kind of related to Naples... They honestly didn't really have to try [to make me feel comfortable]. They're just consistently talking to me every single day to the point where it felt like we're just best friends. So once I got there, I knew I was going to be comfortable."

Simeon is poised for another dominant season at the helm of the Golden Eagles' ground-and-pound offense, and he'll bolster a Toledo squad that appeared in back-to-back MAC Championships and has gone 20-8 in the last two years.

Although the new Love Me Two Times in North Naples shares its name with a popular song by The Doors, the designation comes from the idea that the local women’s boutique sells designer items on consignment, so they can be loved for the second time around.

Love Me Two Times launched April 25 and had a grand opening party May 8 in a nearly 1,100-square-foot space at 7935 Airport-Pulling Road, Suite 111. Previously home to an interior designer and a local ice cream shop, the new store is two doors down from Parmesan Pete’s restaurant in the Fountain Park retail center.

Proprietor Andrea Kaplan operated a similar women’s designer consignment shop by the same name in Baltimore for 12 years before relocating last year to Naples with her boyfriend, Nick Chirigos, a silent partner in the business.

“Nick knew he wanted to retire here. We checked it out. We fell in love with the area back in 2020, right during the pandemic, actually, Nick decided he was going to be retiring in a couple of years, and he did. He found this really great place here,” Kaplan said. “We checked out lots of different places like St. Petersburg and Sarasota, but we just fell in love with Naples.”

Of course, they found Naples to be beautiful and bougie, much like their target clientele.

“It’s the perfect fit,” Kaplan said. “The women here are elegant. They’re upscale. They know quality.”

Love Me Two Times specializes in luxury, designer and one-of-a-kind vintage clothing and accessories. Expect apparel and accessories from luxury brands, such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada available at bargain prices.

“These are coming from extremely high-end women that take good care of these pieces,” said Kaplan, noting that the store’s inventory is ever-changing as items are sold and new pieces arrive.

“You never know what’s going to come in and what people are going to bring,” she said. “It’s a little serendipitous. Sometimes you might have liked something from a year or two ago that was so hard to get, was rare, and then it comes into a consignment shop and it’s your chance to buy this item that you could have never had.”

An easy formula prices discount items sold in the store, Kaplan said.

“If an item is new with tags, and maybe it’s more current in season, it’s about a half of retail,” she said. “If an item is a little bit older, which is fine, it’s a third. But these are still brands that are extremely covetable. They’re really desirable. They might not be brand new, but they’re really collectible and people want them.”

The business is not capital-intensive because Kaplan sells the items on consignment, paying the owners of the items after they are sold in the shop. The sale price is split 50-50 between the store and the consignors.

“It’s a great concept,” she said. “The items are in my care and custody until they sell, and then which the money goes into the consignor’s account.”

When she started her first store 12 years ago, Kaplan said consignment wasn’t as hip and chic and mainstream as it is today.

“Now, everybody’s in on it, because it’s a great way to get things. It was much newer back then, but I loved the idea of it, so I did it,” she said. “It’s all about getting luxury for less because people want deals and the stuff is so expensive, and it was a way for women to be able to afford beautiful things they would want to buy, but maybe it was too expensive.”

“I just love fashion, and this was a way for me to sell the things I love,” she said. “I think it’s all about recycling and repurposing. It’s good for the environment. You’re breathing new life into items. You’re giving new life to items that otherwise maybe would be discarded or not thought of and it’s just a fun concept.”

My cruise line left me stranded in Naples — is this voucher the best they can do?

Judith Abramson’s western Mediterranean cruise on the Oceania Marina last April did not end well. After a sudden illness, the ship’s doctor decided she needed to go to the hospital, and she was unceremoniously disembarked in Naples, Italy, under less than ideal circumstances, she says.

“I was put off the ship with no money, no ID and no one to help navigate the language,” she told me. “I was in the hospital for three days and not one person from the cruise line or the ship came to inquire about me or my problem.”

Worse, her travel companion was treated the same way

“Elaine was told that she had to pack up and leave the ship immediately. No one gave her any assistance in finding a hotel room. She had to make an overseas phone call to a family member who found accommodations at a nearby hotel,” says Abramson.

And the final insult, she adds, is that no one from Oceania bothered to contact her family to let them know she’d been hospitalized. This isn’t the first time that we’ve received complaints about Oceania.

“We feel that the least we are entitled to is a complete refund of our trip,” she told me. “Any help you can give us with this would certainly be appreciated.”

Can Oceania do that? In a word, yes. Check out its passenger ticket contract, the legal agreement between Abramson and the company.

We may, without liability for any refund, payment, compensation or credit of any kind, refuse to embark, or may disembark, confine to a stateroom, quarantine or limit the activities during the Cruise at any time or at any port any Guest who may be suffering from contagious or infectious disease or whose presence, or that of any accompanying child, in the opinion of the Carrier, the Master, or any doctor, may be detrimental to the comfort, enjoyment or safety of other persons, or who, in the Carrier’s or Master’s opinion, might create a risk of harm to himself/herself or any other person, or who may be excluded from landing at the destination by Immigration or other Governmental Authorities. In such cases, the Guest shall not be entitled to any refund of the Cruise Fare or CruiseTour Fare or any compensation whatsoever.

Gee, that’s a mouthful.

battleface delivers insurance that doesn’t quit when circumstances change. We provide specialty travel insurance services and benefits to travelers visiting or working internationally, including in the world’s most hard to reach places. Currently selling in 54 countries and growing, our mission is to deliver simple solutions to travelers worldwide heading out on their next adventure.

My advocacy team and I suggested Abramson send a brief, polite email to Oceania. Describing her ordeal and making her best case for compensation. It responded with a lengthy explanation of why it did what it did. (Here’s our guide on resolving your consumer problem.)

Let’s hit the highlights.

Concerning your medical disembarkation, we hope you can appreciate that the doctor’s prime objective was ensuring your wellbeing, and getting you to a hospital facility that would be medically equipped to handle your circumstances, as quickly as possible.

While we do understand that you felt rushed, things must move very quickly in these situations, particularly when time is limited and the ship is scheduled to leave port shortly, and would be at sea for many hours thereafter.

As you may know, our ships have limited medical facilities, and to eliminate the risk of a possible life-threatening emergency at sea, the doctor felt it was imperative for you to get to a shore-side hospital while the ship was still in port.

Regarding the way it treated her traveling companion, Elaine Sommers. (Here’s our guide to taking an cruise.)

We can understand your anxiety with not being able to personally gather your belongings or say goodbye to your traveling companion, Mrs. Sommers.

Nonetheless, we have been advised that all necessary assistance was rendered aboard ship to Mrs. Sommers, in preparing, packing and disembarking the vessel to accompany you.

Our concierge, Maria, together with Mrs. Sommers, contacted On Call (the emergency assistance arm of BerkelyCare), activated your insurance and obtained a case number, which was provided to Mrs. Sommers, along with the contact details for On Call, so she could keep in touch with them for continued assistance.

The concierge also provided On Call with the details of the hospital where you were taken. Additionally, she accompanied Mrs. Sommers to the gangway, where the port agent met her and arranged transportation to take her to the hospital.

It is also customary for port agents to provide a contact phone number to the guests for them to call for any assistance needed thereafter. The port agent had also assured the concierge that he would help to find a hotel for Mrs. Sommers if requested to do so, but according to your letter, it seems that this was not the case, and we will certainly be discussing this matter with the necessary individuals.

And, to the question of whether she was stranded, as Abramson suggests. (Related: Denied boarding and turned down by insurance — can I help this reader?)

Mrs. Abramson, while we wish we could provide staff members from our ships to accompany all guests who need to be medically disembarked, unfortunately we are unable to do so.

However, the emergency medical personnel, or ambulance transporting the guest, are always provided with the Medical Parole and Referral Letter by our ship’s doctor, for delivery to the hospital, so that the hospital personnel can be fully updated on the patient’s condition and the reason for being referred.

Therefore, we believe the hospital staff should have been fully informed of your situation, even though you were unable to speak their language.

What about her family?

It is not clear why your families were not contacted in as timely a manner as they should have been, as that is the normal course of action, as soon as the notification is sent from the vessel and received in the Head Office.

We can only presume that given the time zones and other logistics, it could have been a matter of timing why Mrs. Sommers was able to contact your family before anyone from the Head Office was able to do so.

It is customary, as well, that once a case has been opened, travel insurance companies do contact the patient’s next of kin, based on the patient’s instructions.

Furthermore, when a guest has purchased travel insurance, and emergency assistance has been activated, as it was in your case, there is normally no need for Oceania Cruises or anyone else to be further involved, as the insurance company fully takes over, which is what they are supposed to do.

The insurance company usually makes arrangements for all air and/or land transportation, in addition to moving the patient to alternate facility if necessary, and any other actions, depending on their own requirements, and the patient’s needs.

We have been in touch with On Call on this matter and they have advised that they were actively involved in helping you during this situation.

Oceania apologized for the “stressful” experience and offered her two $500 vouchers.
