Peptide Therapy
Peptides are small proteins that signal your body to heal, grow, and recover. We use them for injury repair, gut healing, fat loss, muscle preservation, and anti-aging. Every protocol is lab-driven and provider-supervised.

What Is Peptide Therapy?
A peptide is a short chain of amino acids. Think of it as a biological messenger. It attaches to a receptor in your body and sends a signal: repair this tissue, release more growth hormone, calm this inflammation, heal this gut lining. Your body already produces peptides naturally. Peptide therapy gives your body more of the specific signals it needs.
Peptides sit in a space between supplements and pharmaceuticals. They're more targeted than a vitamin. They're less blunt than a prescription drug. And unlike most pharmaceuticals, they work with your body's existing biology rather than overriding it.
The most widely known peptides are GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide (the weight loss drugs you've heard about on TV). Those are peptides. But the category goes far beyond weight loss.
Peptides we use at Med Matrix and what they do:
- BPC-157: Derived from gastric juice. Heals leaky gut, reduces inflammation, repairs damaged tissue. Can be taken orally for gut issues or injected for injury recovery.
- CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin: Growth hormone peptides. They stimulate your body to produce its own growth hormone naturally, which supports muscle growth, fat burning, and recovery. Safer than taking actual HGH.
- Tirzepatide / Semaglutide: GLP-1 medications for weight loss, blood sugar regulation, and inflammation reduction. Tirzepatide has fewer GI side effects than semaglutide.
- TB-4 (Thymosin Beta-4): A naturally occurring peptide in humans. Primarily used for tissue repair, inflammation regulation, and muscle recovery.
- Thymosin Alpha-1: Stimulates T-cell activity for fighting infections, autoimmune conditions, and immune modulation.
- SS-31 and MOTS-c: Exercise mimetics. They support mitochondrial energy production and metabolic function at the cellular level.
- Selank: Targets the brain. Can help with anxiety, panic disorders, and depression. Some patients use it to reduce dependence on medications like benzodiazepines.
Each peptide has a specific job. Some patients use one. Some use a combination. It depends on what your labs show and what your goals are.

How Med Matrix Uses Peptides
Peptides are powerful. But they're not a standalone fix. If your hormones are out of balance, your gut is inflamed, your sleep is wrecked, and you're eating poorly, a peptide signal is landing in a body that can't respond to it. That's why clinics that just hand you a peptide and send you home don't get lasting results.
At Med Matrix, peptides are one tool inside a larger protocol. We test first. Your initial visit includes a 100-biomarker blood panel and an InBody 770 body composition scan. We look at hormones, thyroid, inflammatory markers, nutrient levels, metabolic health, and body composition. Then one of our 7 providers builds a plan around what your body actually needs.
Sometimes that plan starts with hormone optimization and adds peptides later. Sometimes peptides come first if there's an acute injury or gut issue that needs attention now. Sometimes both start at the same time. Studies show that when you pair testosterone with certain peptides, each one works better. The same principle applies across the board. Peptides in an optimized body outperform peptides in a depleted one.
Why sourcing matters. You can buy peptides from research labs online. We don't recommend it. Those products have no regulatory oversight. You can't verify the dose, the purity, or even what's in the vial. Our peptides come from compounding pharmacies that meet federal regulatory standards for quality control, purity testing, and accurate dosing. When we prescribe a dose, we know exactly what's in it.
Why cycling matters. Peptides work by stimulating receptors. If you overstimulate a receptor continuously, it burns out and stops responding. That's why proper protocols cycle on and off. Your provider monitors your response, adjusts timing, and prevents the diminishing returns that come from unsupervised, open-ended use.

FAQ
Peptide Therapy FAQ
Yes, when sourced from a regulated compounding pharmacy and supervised by a trained provider. The peptide molecule itself is not dangerous. The risk comes from unregulated sources where you can't verify purity, dosing, or ingredients. At Med Matrix, all peptides come from pharmacies with federal regulatory oversight. Your provider monitors your labs and adjusts your protocol throughout treatment.
Growth hormone peptides like CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin stimulate your body to produce its own growth hormone naturally. They're not injecting a synthetic hormone directly. This is a softer, safer approach with fewer side effects. Actual HGH carries risks including increased type 2 diabetes risk, joint pain, cardiovascular issues, and potential cancer risk with misuse. Peptides signal your body to do what it already knows how to do. Steroids and exogenous HGH override your body's natural processes.
You can, but we don't recommend it. Research-grade peptides from online sources have no regulatory oversight. You can't verify what's actually in the vial, whether the dose is accurate, or whether there are contaminants like heavy metals. Compounding pharmacies used by medical providers have quality control standards, purity testing, and dosing verification. The peptide molecule might be the same on paper, but the product you receive is very different.
No. Most peptide protocols are designed to cycle on and off. Continuous use can burn out the receptor you're targeting, which reduces effectiveness over time. Your provider will set a timeline for your protocol, monitor your response, and adjust or discontinue based on your results. Some patients use peptides for a few months to address a specific issue. Others use them as part of a longer-term longevity plan with breaks built in.
Initial onboarding at Med Matrix runs about $1,200 to $1,500 all-in, covering your blood panel, body composition scan, provider prep, and one-hour provider visit. Peptide costs vary by type and protocol. Your provider will go over pricing specific to your plan. Follow-up visits are $275. We accept HSA, FSA, CareCredit, and all major cards. New patients get a $100 voucher toward their first visit.
It depends entirely on your labs, symptoms, and goals. BPC-157 is commonly used for gut healing and tissue repair. Growth hormone peptides like CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin support muscle, fat loss, and recovery. GLP-1 medications like tirzepatide address weight and metabolic health. Thymosin Alpha-1 supports immune function. Your provider recommends specific peptides after reviewing your full blood panel and health history. There's no one-size-fits-all answer.
