Sleeping Through the Night

Summary

Dorothy, a nurse, came to Med Matrix after her own doctors recommended she apply for disability and stop working. She was dealing with brain fog, fatigue, balance problems, joint aching, and trouble concentrating at work, and she spent her weekends in bed recovering so she could get through the next week. She had already had cardiac issues and a brain tumor removed, and a year and a half of physical therapy had not helped. Dr. Sasha Rose, ND went through her labs line by line and recommended peptide injections, and she did hormone therapy. She now sleeps 6 to 7 hours instead of 3, has full use of her left arm, and is active again on weekends.

  • Brain fog
  • Fatigue and exhaustion
  • Balance issues
  • Trouble concentrating at work
  • Joint problems and aching
  • Barely sleeping about 3 hours a night

  • Prior medical complications she described: cardiac issues, and a brain tumor that was removed, which left residual balance, hearing, and concentration issues
  • Over a year and a half of physical therapy that made no difference
  • In what she described as the menopausal age group

Results

  • Sleeping 6 to 7 hours a night, up from barely 3
  • Full use of her left arm and shoulder, after being unable to lift it over her head
  • Functioning on the weekends again instead of staying in bed to recover
  • Active on the weekends with her husband
  • No longer in the cycle of working the week and spending the whole weekend recovering
  • Says she feels like a normal person again
  • Still sees her regular PCP and describes functional medicine as working side by side with traditional medicine

Key Quotes

She went line by line through every piece of lab work with me and explained it all out. And it was amazing how everything connected to what I was feeling.

I had been going to physical therapy for over a year and a half. It hadn't made a difference. I hadn't seen one bit of difference in physical therapy.

I wasn't able to lift my left arm over my head. I could barely lift my left arm and now I have full use of my left arm, my shoulder. It was amazing the difference that it made.

I can sleep 6 to 7 hours. Before I was barely sleeping like 3 hours a night.
