Patient Story
Laura: low energy, thyroid, getting off pharmaceuticals
Summary
Laura came to Med Matrix wanting to get off pharmaceuticals and take an all-natural approach to managing high cholesterol and thyroid issues. During her first lab review with Dr. Rose, she discovered she had Hashimoto's disease, a condition her primary care had declined to test for despite her request. She transitioned to natural supplements for both her thyroid and cholesterol and now feels noticeably better, with more energy and improved overall quality of life.
Before Med Matrix
- High cholesterol managed with pharmaceuticals
- Thyroid issues
- Low energy and persistent fatigue
- Had been bounced around conventional medicine for years without real resolution
- Specifically asked her primary care to test for Hashimoto's; they did not
- Felt she was just being told to keep taking her pills
Results
- Discovered previously undiagnosed Hashimoto's disease
- Reduced fatigue ("I don't feel as tired")
- Transitioned away from pharmaceuticals toward natural alternatives
- Overall improved quality of life and how her body feels

Yeah, absolutely. Um, so yeah, I have um high cholesterol, thyroid issues, and um so my whole reasoning for wanting to go to Med Matrix was um because I wanted to get off pharmaceuticals and do an all naturatural approach. Um I just feel like that's more beneficial for me or you know and um so yeah. Gotcha. Okay. What um how so? Yeah. Okay. So, you came in, walk me through how was that first experience as far as like doing labs, meeting with a provider um and all that. Oh, it was it was great. Um I had my blood drawn. It was very easy. Um went in, it was it was pretty quick appointment and like I said, it was it was great. And then I met with um Dr. Rose and um she was great. She went over all my um results, which there was things on there that I hadn't known. Um for example, Hashimoto's disease. Um I didn't I had asked my physician to test me for that and they they didn't. I don't know if I um but um and that did that did come up on there. Um so there were a lot of things that I didn't know um in regards to my lab work um which um really helped me a lot. Yeah. and and very beneficial for me. So, um I think the whole process was simple. It was great. Very nice people. Yeah, I'd agree with you. So, what when you uncovered Hashimoto's, what did you end up doing to help solve that? And then how have you felt since fixing that or addressing it at least? Yep. So, I did um send a copy of my lab work to my primary care physician, but um also um I am now um taking different um all natural medications like um omega-3s um all natural uh thyroid medications um as as well as for my cholesterol as well. Gotcha. That's awesome. And I actually feel um I feel better. I don't feel um as tired. Um I just I feel my body feels better. It's just overall um quality of life. Yeah. Cool. Love to hear that. Um all right then. And then so how long had you just been like kind of getting the um throw around with conventional medicine, them telling you like just here, keep taking your pills, not feeling 100%. Years. Years, man. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. A long time. Um. Yeah. Gotcha. So, what would you say to someone who's considering working with MedMatrix as a patient? Maybe they, you know, on all these pharmaceuticals, they feel like their primary is not listening and they're considering working with us as a patient. What would your advice to them be? My advice would be to go have your lab work done, see how that comes out and then move forward and you know definitely you know uh follow up with a physician there and um see what they can do for you because they you've definitely done great things for me. So, we appreciate
